Why is it significant that people “fell down to partake of the fruit”?

Thomas R. Valletta

“The many people who pressed forward, holding fast to the word of God, finally arrived at the tree and fell down and partook of the fruit. Note that in 11:24, Nephi says he ‘saw many fall down at [Christ’s] feet and worship him.’ They fall to their knees out of pure respect and adoration. Notice the contrast: the wicked are lifted up in pride; the righteous are falling down in humility” (Ogden and Skinner, Book of Mormon, 1:40).
