What do the windows, agates, carbuncles, and precious stones symbolize in Isaiah?

Thomas R. Valletta

“‘Windows [pinnacles or turrets] of agates [rubies], gates of carbuncles [sparkling jewels], borders [walls] of pleasant [precious] stones.’ These could symbolize the beauty of the holy city, or dwelling place of the Saints of God, and the material blessings that will be poured out upon the righteous” (Brewster, Isaiah Plain and Simple, 269).
